Last year, the priority fundraising initiative was the Educational Foundation’s successful launch of the Greek Affordability Fund. This year, the focus will be fundraising for mission-critical infrastructure investments we need to continue making in our beloved house. The campaign, entitled “Reimagine Sigma Pi,” will be launched at this year’s Hailstork Annual Giving Day (September 7) in honor of our brother Adolphus C. Hailstork II. A continued two-fold goal remains to increase overall participation and to identify key alumni who can help launch our efforts.
Hailstork’s birthday should be a holiday in Pi nation, but also a time where we reflect on the values that Hailstork instilled in the brotherhood to this day. One of those core values was helping your brother and caring for the house. Help support Mu Chapter and your fellow brothers on the Adolphus C. Hailstork II Annual Giving Day, held in honor of Dolly’s birthday.
Dolly, Adolphus C. Hailstork II, was born near Ithaca, New York, on September 9, 1915. He served as cook for the Sigma Pi Fraternity brothers for 32 years. A former boxer and Negro League baseball star, Dolly was the soul of Sigma Pi from 1960 to 1992. He never forgot a single name or hometown of a brother of Sigma Pi. The chapter initiated Dolly posthumously into the brotherhood in October 2011.
