Every year, Sigma Pi awards one junior member of the fraternity the David Harrop Memorial Scholarship. This $1,000 award is given to the brother who demonstrates academic excellence while leading and supporting Sigma Pi, as well as staying active and giving back to the local Ithaca community.
The 2024 David Harrop Memorial Scholarship Recipient: TJ Hamilton ’25
TJ Hamilton is a senior in the Charles H. Dyson School of Applied Economics and Management. TJ joined Sigma Pi in the spring 2022 pledge class and served as a rush chair from fall 2022 to spring 2023 and brotherhood chair from fall 2023 to spring 2024. In addition to his involvement in Sigma Pi, TJ is a teaching assistant for AEM 4670 (Investments), a member of the club soccer and club swimming teams and Cayuga Capital, and a brother of Cornell’s PSE business fraternity. In his free time, TJ enjoys playing golf and training for the Maryland Ironman 70.3 in the spring of 2025 after graduation. This past summer, TJ interned on Jones Lang LaSalle’s Washington, DC, capital-markets team.
In his own words: “I am and forever will be happy and proud to be a member of Sigma Pi. As I enter my senior year, I am exceedingly confident that our younger brothers will lead us to new heights by preserving our culture and learning from our mistakes.”
