Professional Experience: Steve took his Cornell experience back to New York, his home town. He has worked in the hospitality industry, focusing his work in food and beverage departments at a number of restaurants and hotels.
Cornell Involvement: Steve is an active supporter of Cornell’s hockey and lacrosse programs. He is committed to ensuring that Mu Chapter will continue to be a leader within both the Cornell and Ithaca communities.

Treasurer: Tom Owens ’83
Professional Experience: Maj. Gen. Thomas J. Owens II is the Air National Guard Assistant to the commander, Air Force Global Strike Command, Barksdale Air Force Base, Lousiana. The command organizes, trains, equips and maintains combat-ready forces that provide strategic deterrence, global strike and combat support to USSTRATCOM and other geographic combatant commands. The command is comprised of more than 33,700 professionals, operating at two Numbered Air Forces and 11 active-duty, ANG and Air Force Reserve wings. Weapons systems assigned to the command include Minuteman III Intercontinental Ballistic Missiles, B-1, B-2, and B-52 bombers, UH-1N helicopters, the E-4B National Airborne Operations Center aircraft and the Nuclear Command, Control, and Communications systems. General Owens received his commission in 1985 as a distinguished graduate of the ANG Academy of Military Science, Knoxville, Tennessee. After completion of pilot training, General Owens served in numerous operational assignments, flying the A-10, F-16, HC-130, and HH-60G in the New York ANG. He has flown in operations Desert Shield, Desert Storm, Provide Comfort, Northern Watch, Southern Watch, Noble Eagle, Iraqi Freedom, and Enduring Freedom. General Owens is a command pilot with more than 3,900 flying hours, including more than 450 combat hours during 120 F-16 combat sorties over Southwest Asia. His commands include the 138th Fighter Squadron, 174th Operations Group and the 106th Rescue Wing. Prior to his current assignment, the general served as the assistant adjutant general for air, New York National Guard.

Secretary: Alexa Bosshardt ’82
Professional Experience: Alexandra (Alexa) Hart Bosshardt, MPS, GRI, is class ’82, MPS ’83 “Hotelie,” Pi-house sweetheart, and “Cornell Mom” to “Sweetie Pi” Blair Bosshardt ’17. As a registered and licensed dietitian and corporate research chef with a culinary degree from Johnson & Wales University, her 40-year career has included directing product development and providing nutrition support for large restaurant chains and food manufacturers. Alexa is a ServSafe® educator for the National Restaurant Association and is highly regarded for her food-safety expertise. She currently enjoys her role as a concessions and premium supervisor for stadiums and other venues managed by Levy (a member of Compass Group USA). Alexa is also licensed as a Residential REALTOR® in Florida.
Alumni Engagement: Some of Alexa’s fondest memories as an undergrad include the many hours spent in “Dolly’s kitchen” at the Pi house and the camaraderie and lasting friendships formed in the dining room (OK, it was the bar), lounges, front porch, and the beach. Alexa spent over 20 years as a CAAAN (Cornell Alumni Admission Network) member, directing dozens of volunteers annually to interview secondary-school applicants. She eagerly returns to campus for Homecoming, Reunions, and HEC (Hotel Ezra Cornell) at the Hotel School and shared Blair’s Cornell experiences between 2013–2017. In 2016, Alexa joined the Kitchen and Dining Committee to spearhead the design and logistical opportunities that became the revitalized Sigma Pi kitchen and self-serve grab-and-go.

Eric Hamburg ’85 |
Professional Experience: Eric Hamburg founded Industrial Renaissance and has significant experience in buying and building companies, improving and transforming companies, and working with management teams. As a partner and lead investor, he has acquired more than 35 businesses and has worked in operating and management roles with more than 30 businesses in a wide variety of industries to successfully implement improved business practices and mission-critical initiatives. Mr. Hamburg’s expertise spans “buy and build” acquisition strategies, strategic business planning, corporate finance, mergers and acquisitions, profit improvement, business process reengineering, “lean” manufacturing and process improvement, business startups, management information systems, supply chain management, business turnarounds, just-in-time manufacturing, and distribution and logistics. He was an early pioneer and practitioner in industry of just-in-time and lean manufacturing when it was introduced into the US in the mid 1980s and buy-build strategies when they became widespread in private equity in the mid 1990s, which he continues to be passionate about today. Eric also has significant experience in developing real estate. Industrial Renaissance and its affiliates act as the owner, developer, and general contractor on all its development projects. Industrial Renaissance is a long term investor and does not flip properties. It’s objective is to build a large portfolio of vibrant, upscale income producing properties that can be held in perpetuity.

Professional Experience: Principal of Baldwin and Welsh & Parker Insurance Agencies in Massachusetts since 1990. Prior to that, served as export transportation manager and folding carton division administrative manager at Westvaco Corporation and as an environmental engineer with Dynamac Corp. and Proctor and Gamble.
Cornell Involvement: Cornell Engineering Ambassador in the ’90s. Class of ’79 fundraising for 30th Reunion Gift in 2009.

Peter Muth ’74

Professional Experience: Peter currently works in Buffalo, New York, at Hodgson Russ LLP, the largest law firm in upstate New York. Specializing in bankruptcy and commercial law, he has also been an enthusiastic public speaker, presenting at close to 100 seminars over the last 40 years. He has been lucky enough to be able to ease into “semi-retirement”, continuing specialized work for many longstanding bank and credit union clients.
Cornell Involvement: Class of 1974, serving as alumni secretary in his sophomore year and sage in his senior year. He was steward in both my junior and senior years. Outside of Sigma Pi, Peter was a member of the Cornell Glee Club, participating in its historic Eastern Europe tour.

John Morrison ’75

Professional Experience: John’s degree in mechanical engineering and participation in NROTC led to more than five years as an officer in the U.S. Navy Nuclear Power Program, including more than three years on the submarine, USS Jack (SSN-605). His naval service was followed by 31 years at the PSEG Salem and Hope Creek Nuclear Power Plants in Southern New Jersey. After starting in plant operations as an NRC licensed Senior Reactor Operator, John held jobs in maintenance, engineering, Corrective Action Program, quality assurance, supply chain, work management, and project management. His positions included direct supervision (of shift operators, staff, and engineers), project manager, department manager, and assistant to directors and vice presidents. He retired in December 2011.
